Pimpri-Chinchwad International Film Festival opens to enthusiastic response despite Holi celebrations

The Pimpri-Chinchwad International Film Festival (PCIFF) 2026 commenced on an energetic note at the G. D. Madgulkar Auditorium, drawing an impressive turnout of cinema enthusiasts on its opening day. Despite the city celebrating Dhulivandan (Holi) with great enthusiasm, audiences gathered in large numbers to experience a curated selection of short films and documentaries from India and across the globe.

The first day showcased a diverse range of films exploring themes such as social change, cultural identity, human values, nature, and tradition. The screenings offered viewers a rich and thought-provoking cinematic experience, earning strong appreciation from attendees.

Among the featured films were Keki, Chakri, Echo Chamber, The Wet Wall, Lost Songs of Sundari, Malavazhi, A Half of Half-Hearted, The Miracle of Life, When the Bell Rings, Tapas, Illegitimate, 1942 – The Calcutta Case, Attar, Dara, A Day in a Life, The Showman, The Seventeenth Year, and Toyam. Each production stood out for its unique storytelling style and artistic depth.

Additional highlights included Ganpati Tu Sarvottam, Bernard & Rasha: A Swiss-Indian Story, Poli, Manitha Subhavvam, Rehan Special, Martya, Badare, Kali, Devichandragupatham, and A Bohemian Artist, further enriching the festival’s vibrant opening day lineup.
