Goa Government Sets Up Special Control Room for NRIs Amid West Asia and Gulf Situation

In view of the current situation in West Asia and the Gulf region, the Government of Goa has issued a press note announcing the establishment of a special control room to assist Goan residents and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who may require support or information.

According to the notice from the Home Department’s International Cooperation Unit in Alto-Porvorim, a control room has also been set up by the Ministry of External Affairs to address queries related to the evolving situation in West Asia and the Gulf region. Members of the public can contact the control room between 9 am and 9 pm for any assistance.

The toll-free helpline number 1800118797 has been provided along with additional contact numbers: +91 11 2301 2113, +91 11 2301 4104, and +91 11 2301 7905 for queries related to Indian citizens in the region.

The press note also lists emergency contact numbers of Indian embassies across several countries including Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Palestine (Ramallah), Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to help Indian nationals seek immediate assistance if required.

Additionally, the Government of Goa has established a Special Control Room for the benefit of the Goan NRI and diaspora community currently based in West Asia and the Gulf region. Those requiring help can reach out via email: commissioner-nri.goa@nic.in or call 0832-2419818.

Officials have stated that the initiative aims to ensure timely communication, safety, and assistance for Goan citizens living abroad during the current regional developments.
