Goa’s respected industrialist and philanthropist Shrinivas Dempo, fondly known as Baba, has been conferred the Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia, one of the highest civilian honours awarded by the Italian Republic.
The honour was formally bestowed by the Consul General of Italy, Mr Walter Ferrara, at a special ceremony held in Panaji. The recognition celebrates Shri Dempo’s outstanding contribution to strengthening Indo-Italian relations, his leadership in industry, and his enduring commitment to social and cultural development.
Widely admired for his humility and vision, Shrinivas Dempo’s legacy extends beyond business into philanthropy, education, sports, and community-building — making this international recognition a proud moment for Goa and India.
