Known for his impeccable comic timing on screen, Rajpal Yadav has revealed that his real life over the past 10–12 years has been far from laughter. Speaking about the ₹5 crore financial dispute and his time behind bars, the actor opened up about the emotional toll it took on him and his family.
In an interview, Rajpal Yadav became emotional while recalling the difficult phase. “What my family has endured in the last 10–12 years is impossible to put into words. My family does not belong to the film industry. They are simple farming people from Shahjahanpur,” he said.
He explained that although the legal dispute was centered in Mumbai, its impact reached his village as well. His entire family faced mental stress and social pressure due to the controversy. Using a powerful metaphor, he shared, “My family, my village, and my community are my weakness. When a stone is thrown at a mud-filled pot, the splashes spread everywhere. The same happened in my case. When stones were thrown at me, the mud splashed onto my innocent family too.”
With folded hands, the actor apologized to his family, stating that he never intended to cause them pain. He alleged that there was a calculated attempt to target him, and in the process, his loved ones were also dragged into hardship.
Rajpal Yadav also emphasized that despite achieving international recognition, he has always felt a deep sense of responsibility toward his country, society, and family. “I will always say sorry to my family because they do not understand the complexities and politics of cinema,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, he clarified that both his intention to make films and his love for his family were genuine. Today, he says he has been able to stand strong again only because of the unwavering support of his family and fans who stood by him during the toughest phase of his life.
